Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.

You may sign up with an email address and password, or through Google or Discord. One person, one account: please do not create accounts for other people or automated accounts.

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.

Your username is public and appears next to everything you post. Usernames that impersonate other people or organisations, or that are offensive, can be changed or removed by us.

Reviews, ratings, hours, lists, tier lists, chat messages, profile details and anything else you add to the Service are your content. You keep ownership of it.

So that the Service can work, you give GamerNotes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and share your public content on the Service, including showing it to other users and in previews and social embeds. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other users have already shared and for backups that expire on their own schedule.

Only post content you have the right to post. Do not post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, that reveals other people's private information, that contains spam or advertising, or that includes cheats, malware or links to pirated games.

Be decent to other players. We may remove content, restrict features or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that harm other users, or that we reasonably believe put the Service at risk — with or without notice, depending on the severity.

Automated filters may hide messages or reviews that contain abusive language. If we get something wrong, contact us and we will take another look.

Game names, covers, artwork, screenshots, release dates, ratings and other game metadata are provided by IGDB.com, a Twitch/Amazon service, under its terms. GamerNotes is not affiliated with IGDB, Twitch, any game publisher or any platform holder, and game names and images belong to their respective owners.

News articles are collected from the public feeds of the publications that write them; the headline, summary and image are shown here and the full article is theirs. Trailers are embedded from YouTube and are subject to YouTube's terms.

Signing in with Google or Discord is subject to their terms and privacy policies as well as ours.

Community ratings are the average of what our players rated a game and are shown separately from IGDB ratings. When a game has no IGDB rating, the community rating is shown in its place. Ratings are opinions, not facts, and we don't guarantee their accuracy.

The GamerNotes name, logo, design and software are ours. You may not copy, scrape, resell or build a competing service from the Service or its data without our written permission. Personal, non-commercial use — including sharing links to your profile and lists — is always fine.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your profile and content stop being visible immediately and are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we must keep something to comply with the law.

We may close accounts that break these terms (section 4) and may change, suspend or shut down parts of the Service; we will try to give reasonable notice for anything that affects you significantly.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". GamerNotes is run by a small team and we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or that game data will always be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GamerNotes and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms when the Service changes or the law requires it. The date at the top tells you when they last changed; for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Where local consumer law gives you stronger rights, those rights still apply.
